Vivien Lesley is a classically trained singer who started singing semi-professionally at the tender age of 14 with local dance bands. She served her apprenticeship in the tough northern working men’s clubs before moving up to the large theatre clubs where she worked as a supporting artist to such stars as Ken Dodd, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson, Paul Daniels and many other of the big stars of the 1970’s.
After performing in her first summer season she moved into theatre production shows touring the country, pantomime and theatre summer seasons. She met her partner Barrie West and they joined together to become a song and dance act still working in theatre and touring shows. They did their first season abroad in Malta and then started work on cruise ships which they did for 6 years.
After attending several impro workshops supported by Equity 5 other members joined together to form a murder mystery company ‘The Foul Players’ which is still going strong today. They write and produce their own productions.
Vivien also now goes out as an After Dinner Speaker talking about her life in showbusiness and its many ups and downs as well as still performing in cabaret.
